Big News in the Yee Family!!

I am finally back after a few months off and a lot of things have happened!!

We are happy to announce that...

This lovely lady will be joining our family in the middle of February!! She is such a blessing in our lives and we are so excited to meet her, see what she looks like and watch her grow into a fabulous person.

The pregnancy has been wonderful so far! Everything has been going along the way that it is supposed to which is a huge relief and we are hoping for that to continue for the next few months!

Since unfortunately, many people have not been able to see the growth of the bump...here are a few requested pictures from the past few weeks.

Week 9... after our first official ultrasound!

Week 12...first trimester almost done!

Week 15...just ignore my lovely face!

Week 18...the last picture before the next few weeks flew by and we forgot week 19 and 20... pregnancy brain!

We are officially in the middle of week 22 and haven't taken a picture yet. We promise to take one today because the bump seemed to have really popped out overnight!

Thank you so much for all of the love and support that we have received over the past few months... we feel so lucky to have so many amazing people in our lives.

Happy Birthday Lily!

When I married Will I was lucky enough to also get three sisters.  Through the past few years we have been able to spend more time together and get to know each other better.  I am very grateful to have them in my lives and to be able to share many memories with them.

This past weekend, Will's youngest sister, Lily, turned 40.  Lily has had a very challenging year battling breast cancer and has made it through with dignity and grace.  She is one of the bravest, strongest, most inspiring woman I know.  She has stayed positive through the entire experience and has continued to be an amazing mom to her sons.

Will and his siblings decided that we needed to celebrate Lily, show her how proud we are of her and help usher in her 40s with style!

We hosted a surprise party for her at a restaurant in South San Francisco and invited many of her closest friends and family. Will and I were in charge of decorations and I had a blast putting it all together.

It was a great night for Lily and I feel so blessed that I was able to be a part of it.  Here is to many more years of fun, celebrations and love!

Everyone enjoying themselves.

Surprise!!!

Will and I matched the party!

Happy birthday Lily! We are in awe of your strength, compassion and grace.  We hope you had a great party! We love you!

Chinese New Year

Gong Hey Fat Choi!! Happy Chinese New Year!!

This past weekend was Chinese New Year.  On Saturday night after work, I went to Will's mom's house to celebrate with his immediate family and it was a nice, relaxing dinner.

On Sunday I was lucky enough to get the day off of work so I was able to join all of Will's family at a restaurant in Millbrae for a traditional Chinese New Year dinner.  I took pictures of all of the dishes since most of them were new to me as well...

We were stuffed at the end of the meal and I can now say that I have had both pork and beef tongue as well as cooked oysters.  As you can probably guess, my favorite dish was the lobster however, it is really hard to eat lobster with chop sticks. Hehehe...

Here is a red envelope with lucky money for all of the readers out there.  I hope the virtual lucky money brings you good luck, health and happiness this year!

Ano Nuevo

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the delay in posts...January just seemed to have gotten away from me.

After the craziness of the holidays we decided to take a few of our days off to just relax and re-group.

But we were still able to have a fun date day to Ano Nuevo.  We went down on a cool Friday morning to this state park to watch the elephant seals.  Every year around this time they make their way to shore to give birth, raise the pups and mate again.  Then they go off again until the summer when they come back here to molt.

We weren't sure what it was going to be like and how close we were going to get to the seals but it was AMAZING. We hiked about a mile down to the beach area.  Once we got there we were only feet away from the elephant seals.  The park ranger would have us stop at different sections of the beach so that we could make sure that we weren't in the line of fire if one of the HUGE male elephant seals were to attack another.

Then as we approached the ridge, we were able to see all of the female and male seals as well as the new pups.  It was a very interesting experience and we were glad we got to see the elephant seals in their natural habitat, doing what they have always done for years.

Here are a few pictures...

Until next time...

Merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays to everyone!  We hope that you all enjoyed your holidays and got to spend time with loved ones near and far.  This holiday season Will and I were especially lucky to be able to celebrate Christmas with so many of the people that we love.  We recognize this year was very difficult for many people so we really cherished all of the memories that were made and feel very lucky that we were able to be around so many amazing people, eat great food and be able to share many gifts with our loved ones.

Christmas weekend started with the arrival of my mom and brother from the East Coast.  We spent a few days cooking, catching up and enjoying each others company.

We went up to Santa Rosa on Christmas Eve to attend church with my grandparents and aunt and uncle.  It was nice to go back to church again and made Christmas feel real since I haven't quite found a church to attend yet in San Francisco.

On Christmas Day we all woke up early and exchanged gifts and enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast together before doing last minute preparations for Christmas dinner.

Before we started our dinner we were able to call our family on the East Coast and check in with them.  They had just finished their dinner so we were able to talk to almost everyone there.  It was really nice to be able to connect with them on Christmas as well.

Soon our guests started to arrive.  This year we were lucky enough to celebrate Christmas with both sides of our family.  My grandparents, aunt, uncle, mom and brother were there from my side and Will's mom, 3 sisters, 3 brothers in law, and 4 nieces and nephews were all there from his side.  It was great to have everyone in one room and to be able to provide a wonderful holiday for everyone.

Will made a delicious prime rib, his sister and brother in law made a turkey, his other sister made some side dishes, my mom and I made some side dishes and desserts and my brother made the mashed potatoes and green beans.  It was truly a family affair!

I spent a lot of time getting the tables decorated because it is one of my favorite things to do! If I could keep my house decorated for Christmas year round then I definitely would!

We had a fabulous day eating, drinking, chatting, gift exchanging and playing.  Thank you to everyone that came, helped out and checked in.  It was a wonderful Christmas and made us remember how lucky we are.

Our niece and nephews! Too cute!

My grandparents!

Cheers to a wonderful holiday together! Can't wait to celebrate again next year.  Merry Christmas to all!
